Arrived broken? You have up to 90 days, until you press this button

Three minutes and one photo from your phone, and the refund is on its way. There is one button on AliExpress you should not rush to press.
Three minutes and one photo from your phone. Thats all it takes to open the process that gets your money back on a parcel that arrived broken, or never arrived at all.
Opened the box and found something cracked? Now the good part: youre still inside the protection window, and you havent given up a thing.
The button that shortens your clock
There is a button there saying you received the order. It looks like good manners. Blin, it isnt.
The second you press it, the money is released to the seller and you move onto a 15 day clock to open a dispute.
Without that press, the orders protection keeps running to the end of its own window, and on slow shipping that can be up to 90 days from the day it left.
So no, this button doesnt cancel your right. It takes your time. And if you do nothing at all, the order confirms itself at the end of the window, so ignoring it isnt a plan either.
30 seconds that do all the work
Open the parcel in front of the camera. One continuous video, no editing, from the packaging still sealed to the product in your hand.
Thats the strongest asset youll have in a dispute, and it costs you nothing.
Already opened it without filming? Clear close up photos do the job just fine.
This is how you open a dispute, in 3 minutes
- My Orders, pick the order, open a dispute
- Pick a reason: didnt arrive, arrived damaged, or not as described
- Attach the video or the photos, and ask for a full or a partial refund
- Write two factual lines: what the product page says, and what actually turned up
A long story with no picture is what loses cases. A picture with two lines beats it any day of the week.
Three clocks worth knowing
- 15 days from the moment you confirmed receipt
- The orders protection window, up to 90 days from shipping, as long as you havent confirmed
- The seller has 3 days to answer. Didnt answer? It goes to AliExpress to decide
Full, partial, and what about sending it back
Didnt arrive, arrived broken, or its not remotely the thing in the picture? Thats a case for a full refund.
Colour a little off, a size that missed, a small flaw? Thats usually a partial refund, and it closes fast.
And on small orders they usually dont ask you to send the product back at all. Thats not a promise from me, thats how it works most of the time.
